The government’s goal is to eliminate the church as a national institution, political strategist Armen Badalyan said in an interview with Alpha News, commenting on the recent incidents and clashes at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

The political strategist described what was happening not as an accident, but as part of a clearly developed program.

“What we are seeing is not a final victory for either side, but rather an ongoing, dangerous process. We don’t know the authorities’ true goal,” Badalyan said.

He believes that after May 9, when the prime minister returned from Moscow, a process began aimed at serving specific geopolitical objectives. According to the political strategist, this program is based on the transfer of the “Zangezur corridor,” the neutralization of the Russian presence, and, most importantly, the weakening and elimination of the Armenian Apostolic Church.

According to the expert, actions against the Church align with globalist politics: “One of the goals is to create not a society with a national character, but a globalist society consisting of sectarian and various minorities.”

According to him, this is a de facto process of separation of the church structures in Armenia and Russia.

“They are trying to cut off the Armenian Diaspora in Russia from Armenian society in Armenia, which contributes to the policies of globalists from Azerbaijan, Turkey, and the European Union,” he added.
