Airik Balasanov signs with Italian Monopoli

Italian club Monopoli has strengthened its youth team with attacking midfielder Airik Balasanov, who previously played in Lithuania. The club, whose senior team currently ranks 5th in Serie C and is pushing for promotion to Serie B, is counting on the promising player in its pursuit of leadership in the youth championship.

Balasanov, 18, began his football journey at Lithuanian academies FK Gintaras, BE1 NFA, and Banga, before spending a short period in Germany with JFV Lübeck.

Balasanov has already made his debut for Monopoli Primavera in a 2–1 away victory against Perugia. In this game, the midfielder played a key role in securing the win, helping reduce Monopoli’s gap from league leaders Empoli and Pescara to just three points.
