Aleppo military administration officials met with the heads of Armenian and Christian communities on December 9.
Aleppo’s Armenians have received security guarantees from the city’s military authorities, Archbishop Magar Ashgarian told RFE/RL’s Armenian Service.
“We can say that security will be ensured. There is no need to be afraid. On the contrary, we should hope that everything will be fine in the near future. They said it would be good if everyone started going to work, although there are some economic difficulties. Banks and schools are still closed. But soon, probably in a week, universities and schools will start working normally,” Ashgarian said.
According to the Archbishop, the situation in the city is calm.
