Aliyev has become impudent and is making unprecedented demands and evaluations, military expert David Jamalyan told Alpha News.

“Aliyev’s bragging does not surprise me at all, since everything is very natural. Aliyev was allowed to become impudent; he gained the audacity to make unprecedented demands and evaluations. It is obvious who allowed him to become so impudent—it is the leader who now heads the Armenian government. Aliyev is not solving the domestic political problem. In this way he is solving the problem of legitimizing the impending and already inevitable aggression. Such bold statements are not made by chance, and such bravery is also not accidental. This is a stage of information aggression against Armenia and legitimization of his intentions to seize the territories of Armenia,” the military expert warned.

According to him, one should not expect the current Armenian government to be able to neutralize this inevitable aggression.

“It is at least naive to expect that under the current government we will be able to neutralize this new disaster hanging over our heads. The Armenian authorities are creating an information background to dispel people’s concerns and distract them from the main topic, so that at the moment of aggression, the Armenian society does not unite and cannot fight back.

It is not Aliyev’s demands that are unprecedented, but the fact that Nikol Pashinyan is the leader of the country. Isn’t it unprecedented to cede a part of the country’s territory to Azerbaijan in December 2020 by verbal agreement? It is about the 21st kilometer of the road connecting Goris and Kapan. Is there a precedent when a head of state, by verbal agreement, surrenders some part of his country’s territory to the enemy and does not recognize the disputed nature of this territory but simply surrenders it? Aliyev would not have been able to get what he got if there had been a government in Armenia capable of preparing the country for defense,” David Jamalyan concluded.

Earlier, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev made a number of scandalous statements. “If Yerevan does not need a peace agreement, then Baku does not need it either. We can live without a peace agreement,” he said.
