‘Aliyev is trying to ensure a calm political atmosphere’: Ara Poghosyan on Azerbaijan’s snap election
Considering the style of the Azerbaijani authorities, Aliyev is preparing for new actions, political scientist Ara Poghosyan told Alpha News, commenting on the news about holding snap presidential elections in Azerbaijan.
“Considering the attitude and style of the Azerbaijani authorities, especially in 2020, when snap elections were held there before the war, which allowed Aliyev to undertake military aggression, Aliyev is preparing for new actions. It was because of this that Aliyev had the opportunity to carry out military operations without internal political unrest and shifts,” Poghosyan said.
According to the political scientist, Azerbaijan is trying to ensure a calm political atmosphere for further actions.
“I’m afraid that this time Azerbaijan is taking certain new steps, and therefore it is trying to ensure a calm political atmosphere in order to take some actions, at least after 2024,” Poghosyan concluded.
