Aliyev needs a desolate Armenia to hand over to his son — Grigor Balasanyan

Armenia cannot dissolve the OSCE Minsk Group, international affairs expert Grigor Balasanyan told Alpha News.

“Armenia cannot dissolve the Minsk Group because Armenia did not create it. Moreover, the Minsk Group was not created to normalize Armenian-Azerbaijani relations and sign a peace agreement. It was created for a completely different issue. At least three co-chairing states must give their consent to dissolve the Minsk Group,” he said.

According to the expert, Aliyev needs a devastated Armenia.

“This is an artificial agenda put forward by Aliyev, and its goal is very clear. Aliyev wants to resolve all existing or potential issues between Armenia and Azerbaijan through the so-called agreement. Aliyev is trying to get rid of all the problems that his son may face in the future. It is no secret that Aliyev is preparing both land and a throne to hand over to his son, he needs a devastated Armenia,” Balasanyan noted.
