Aliyev says Azerbaijan wants peace but must be ready for war

Azerbaijan wants peace but must be prepared for war at any moment because it’s impossible to predict what tomorrow may bring, said the country’s president, Ilham Aliyev, as reported by RIA Novosti.

“We do not want war. We want peace. But we must be ready for war at any moment,” he said.

According to Aliyev, global developments are unpredictable, so Azerbaijanis must take responsibility for their own security and remain vigilant. He noted that Baku is aware of potential threats and is strengthening its military capabilities. He added that Azerbaijan has acquired modern UAVs and new artillery systems. Additionally, contracts have been signed for new fighter jets, and existing aircraft have undergone upgrades.
