Mehmet Oz, Administrator of the US Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), is being accused of targeting the Armenian community in California after releasing a video of a so‑called street “investigation,” which appeared to focus on Armenian neighborhoods in Los Angeles.

“My office is filing a civil rights complaint seeking an investigation into Dr. Oz’s baseless and racist allegations against Armenian Americans in California,” Governor Gavin Newsom said in a post on X.

Alpha News discussed the issue with Garen Jinbachian, spokesperson for the ANCA-Western Region.

“Dr. Oz holds dual citizenship. He is a citizen of both the United States and Turkey. He served in Turkey, has good relations with Erdogan, and as we can see, also harbors anti‑Armenian sentiment. This anti‑Armenian attitude was condemned both by the governor and by several members of Congress. As a result, we saw lawsuits filed against him by both the governor and our organization,” Jinbachian noted.

According to him, there has not yet been a proper response to these lawsuits, apart from the fact that the filings have been received and acknowledged.
