‘Anora’, featuring Armenian actors, nominated for Golden Globes 2025

American filmmaker Sean Baker’s ‘Anora’, which stars Armenian actors Karren Karagulian and Vache Tovmasyan, has been nominated for the Golden Globes 2025, The Guardian reports.

The film has been nominated for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Performance by a Female Actor, Best Supporting Performance by a Male Actor, Best Director, and Best Screenplay.

The 82nd Golden Globe Awards will be held on January 5.

‘Anora’ follows the story of a stripper from Brooklyn who elopes with the son of a Russian oligarch, much to his parents’ despair. The film has won the Palme d’Or at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.
