Another step towards closer Armenia–EU cooperation in defense – Kallas on €20 million assistance

Kaja Kallas, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and President of the Foreign Affairs Council, commented on the new €20 million assistance measure for Armenia under the European Peace Facility.
“This European Peace Facility assistance measure is another step towards closer cooperation between the EU and Armenia in the area of security and defence. With this measure, the EU demonstrates its commitment to further supporting Armenia’s resilience, which contributes to stability, peace and security of the whole region,” she said in remarks published in the official EU press release.
The EU Council adopted the decision to provide Armenia with €20 million under the European Peace Facility. According to the statement published on the Council’s official website, the purpose of the assistance is to strengthen the logistical capacities of the Armed Forces of Armenia.
