Aragatsotn Diocese condemns repressions against clergy

The Aragatsotn Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church issued a statement condemning the repressive actions carried out by the legal system.

“He who justifies the wicked and he who condemns the righteous are both alike an abomination to the Lord – Proverbs 17:15.

The Court of First Instance of Yerevan decided to extend the detention of the head of the Aragatsotn Diocese, Bishop Mkrtich Proshyan, for another two months.

The Aragatsotn Diocese condemns the repressive actions carried out by the legal system and the unlawful decision, considering the detention of the head of the diocese unacceptable.

We affirm that all accusations are fabricated and baseless. We hope that justice will soon prevail, and we pray to Almighty God for the restoration of this justice and the return of our beloved Leader,” the statement reads.
