Aram I: Today’s process of self-destruction and suicide needs to be stopped

Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia Aram I released a statement, condemning the attempts of the Armenian police to prevent Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II from entering the Sardarapat Memorial.

“A little earlier, we learned about the attempts of the police to prevent Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II from entering the Sardarapat Memorial. We strongly condemn this extremely shameful attitude that goes against the moral and spiritual values of our nation.

In what direction is Armenia moving—our dear homeland, for the sake of independence and eternity of which our saints prayed for centuries, our ancestors created, and our martyrs shed blood? Today’s process of self-destruction and suicide needs to be stopped. Our church cannot stay indifferent, seeing the destruction of our homeland,” Catholicos said in a statement.
