Aram Khachaturian International Competition being held in Beijing

The Aram Khachaturian International Violin Competition started on December 17 in Beijing, China. It is dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the great composer and conductor.

The competition was organized for the first time in China with the cooperation of the Aram Khachaturian Cultural Foundation, the Chinese National Opera House and Chinese government agencies.

The Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, led by Artistic Director and Chief Conductor Sergey Smbatyan, has been invited to the competition.

The Armenian State Symphony Orchestra will accompany the finalists. The orchestra will also perform at the gala concert, which will be held on December 28 at the Chinese National Opera House.
