Aram Khachaturian Trio to perform in Russia’s Voronezh

The Voronezh Camerata international music festival will be held in Voronezh, Russia, from November 5 to 10, with musicians from Armenia, China, France and Russia participating.
The Aram Khachaturian Trio (Armine Grigoryan, piano; Karen Shahgaldyan, violin; Karen Kocharyan, cello) will perform at the festival on November 8.
Almost all the artists performing at the festival will take to the stage of the Voronezh Philharmonic for the first time. Only Aram Khachaturian Trio member Karen Shahgaldyan is already well known to the local audience, as he performed together with pianist Sona Barseghyan at the festival’s sixth edition.
The Aram Khachaturian Trio was formed in 1999 and performed as the Arsika Trio. In 2008, it took the name of the outstanding Armenian composer, Aram Khachaturian. It is a prize winner in international competitions and has earned the reputation of a highly professional, world-class ensemble. According to music critics, the ensemble is characterized by virtuoso performances, extraordinary coherence, and a sense of style.
The trio has performed in Russia, the USA, Canada, Australia, China, Japan, most of Europe, Central and South America, and the CIS countries. They have performed at such prestigious venues as the Musikverein Brahms Hall in Vienna, the Small Hall (Kleiner Saal) and the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg, the Mendelssohn Hall and the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, the Philharmonic and the Carl Orff Room in Munich’s Gasteig, the Koerner Hall in Toronto, and the Suntory Hall in Tokyo. The band participates in international festivals such as Schubertiade (Switzerland), Cervantino (Mexico), Art Festivals in Costa Rica, and Russian Chamber music in Hamburg.
