Arayik Harutyunyan coordinated all his steps with Armenia – Davit Melkumyan

Former Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan was the only person who maintained contacts with official Yerevan, David Melkumyan, head of the Artsakh Democratic Party faction of the Artsakh National Assembly, told Alpha News.

“Open the official page of Arayik Harutyunyan, in particular his last message, where he wrote that there is no way out anymore. That is, it was his last call that we will not last long in these conditions. As for his resignation, our faction specifically stated that after the war the formed parliament should be dissolved and new people should come. But we didn’t have that opportunity, we didn’t have the right to make state institutions our target. We had no guarantee that we would be able to organize new elections. In this context we always tried to be reserved. Arayik Harutyunyan periodically talked about resigning, but we persuaded him not to take that step, as we were not able to organize new elections.

According to my information, he coordinated all his steps with Armenia. Moreover, he was the only person who maintained contacts with official Armenia,” Melkumyan added.
