The court sentenced Archbishop Mikael Ajapahyan to two years of imprisonment on charges of publicly calling for the overthrow of the government.
Earlier, the prosecution had requested a two-and-a-half-year sentence, taking into account the time he had already spent in custody. Ajapahyan has been under arrest since late June.
