I don’t see a pro-Armenian position in the White House today, Glendale Council member Ardashes “Ardy” Kassakhian told Alpha News.
“I cannot tell anyone to vote for Biden. Artsakh was depopulated as a result of betrayal; this is unacceptable to me. We have good friends in the Democratic Party, for example, Adam Schiff and Frank Pallone. But today, I do not see a pro-Armenian position in the White House. If Trump is the candidate of the Republican Party, it will be equally harmful for Armenians,” Kassakhian emphasized.
According to him, the assistance sent to Ukraine can be provided to other countries that need it more.
“I believe that there should be peace in Ukraine, and financial assistance from the United States should be sent to other places that need more help. It sends billions abroad, but even Ukraine cannot explain what this money is spent on,” Kassakhian said.
He noted that Armenian Americans must constantly remind the forces participating in the elections of the threat to Armenia.
“We must demand from the Armenian authorities that they try to help not only the military and political figures of Artsakh held in Baku but also ordinary people. We, Armenian Americans, have an obligation to remind everyone that Armenia is in danger; it is being persecuted. Turks can cross the border at any moment and try to capture all of Syunik. There is a real threat. The forces that entered the sovereign territory of Armenia, occupied the Republic of Artsakh, and displaced the civilian population pose a serious danger and threaten the security of Armenia and the Armenian people,” Kassakhian concluded.
