As part of the campaign against the holding of the 29th UN Climate Change Conference COP29 in Baku, the ARF-D Committee in Lebanon has sent letters to ambassadors accredited in the country.
The letters have been sent to the ambassadors of the United States, Russia, France, Britain, Spain, China, the ambassadors of the European Union, Italy, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Greece, Denmark, Austria, Germany, Bulgaria, Japan, Switzerland, Uruguay, Chile, Argentina, Canada, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Malaysia.
The Committee has pointed out that the COP29 will be held in Azerbaijan, “the country that perpetrated the ethnic cleansing of the indigenous Armenian population in Artsakh.”
The letter also notes that the detention of Armenian hostages and POWs in Baku prisons is a serious warning to those considering exercising their right to return enshrined in international law.
