Argentina-based duduk player Gagik Gasparyan to present Armenian culture in European temples

Argentina-based musician and honorary member of AGBU Buenos Aires, Gagik Gasparyan, staying true to his mission, will travel to a number of European countries with fourteen performances to introduce the centuries-old Armenian culture to the foreign audience, AGBU Buenos Aires reports on Facebook.

Gagik Gasparyan will present Armenian ancient spiritual music with duduk in famous temples of Spain, Holland, and Greece. A performance is also planned in the St. Vardanants church of the Armenian-populated Ferigyugh in Istanbul.

The program features works by Nerses the Gracious, Gregory of Narek, Komitas, Mekhitar of Ayrivank, Makar Yekmalyan, and Arno Babajanyan. European spiritual music will be played as well.

The main concert will take place on November 23 at the historic Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. In this regard, AGBU Buenos Aires chairman Antonio Sarafian has already met with Archbishop Jose Maria Turull, rector of Sagrada Familia, discussing organizational and future cooperation issues before the concerts.

The musician dedicates his concerts to the global world. Admission to all concerts is free.
