Arman Ghukasyan: If Pashinyan participates in the EAEU meeting online, why didn’t he do the same for the CIS summit?

The level of Armenian-Russian relations has significantly decreased, Arman Ghukasyan, chair of the “For Social Justice” party and political scientist, told Alpha News.
He also touched upon the most discussed topic of the day. Earlier, Pashinyan announced that he had tested positive for COVID and therefore would not be able to travel to Russia to attend the CIS summit.
“Even if he is sick, it does not mean anything. Today’s technologies allow a person to participate in events via video link. Based on the political course and logic of the current government, all of Nikol Pashinyan’s steps show that this government is changing its foreign policy.
It recently became known that a personal meeting between Putin and Pashinyan was not planned within the framework of the CIS summit. In other words, everything is so ‘good’ in Armenian-Russian relations that the Russian side does not even want to discuss any issues. This is a clear sign that the level of Armenian-Russian relations, to put it mildly, has significantly decreased,” Arman Ghukasyan noted.
He noted that if Nikol Pashinyan takes part in the online meeting of the EAEU, the question will arise as to why he did not do the same at the meeting of the CIS member states.
“The incompetent political games that Nikol Pashinyan and his team are playing are not in the interests of Armenia. Such a policy will only worsen our situation. I believe it is not such a pressing issue whether Pashinyan will participate in the EAEU meeting or not, since within the political processes and the policies they pursue, he can participate via video link. But if he participates in the EAEU summit via video link, then the question will arise as to why he did not participate in the CIS summit at all,” Arman Ghukasyan said.
