At the European Political Community Summit in Copenhagen, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama addressed French President Emmanuel Macron, asking why he had not congratulated Albania and Azerbaijan on reaching a peace agreement.

“You should make an apology to us because you didn’t congratulate us on the peace deal that President Trump made between Albania and Azerbaijan,” Rama said to Macron.

The joke likely referenced a statement by US President Donald Trump, in which he claimed that his efforts had ended a “decades-long conflict between Azerbaijan and Albania,” allegedly lasting over 30 years.

Nikol Pashinyan’s reaction was notable, as Armenia was being trolled right before his eyes.

President Trump has repeatedly confused the names of Armenia and Azerbaijan when speaking publicly about his role in their “reconciliation.” He often referred to Armenia as Albania and recently confused Azerbaijan with Cambodia.
