Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, in an interview with Report, said that Yerevan and Baku are rapidly advancing toward the establishment of lasting peace, which paves the way for large-scale regional economic projects.
According to him, among the key points are:
• The text of a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan has been agreed upon;
• Agreements have been reached on opening regional transport and communication lines;
• Azerbaijan has lifted transit restrictions and carried out the first export of petroleum products to Armenia;
• These steps positively influence the normalization of Turkish-Armenian relations.
Yılmaz added that the South Caucasus is gradually moving away from confrontation and transforming into a region of cooperation, stability, and economic development, and that Turkey is ready to support this process both diplomatically and politically.
