After the joint assessment of the bridge between Armenia and Turkey, Armenia has already completed the construction and technical upgrading of the Margara checkpoint on the Armenia-Turkey border, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said in his remarks today at the meeting of the 3+3 regional consultative platform in Istanbul.

“Besides, Armenia and Turkey have already agreed to jointly assess the technical requirements for launching the Gyumri-Kars railway. This complements the already implemented decisions on the direct flights between Armenia and Turkey and the mutual lifting of air cargo transportation bans.

The launch of the Gyumri-Kars railway between Armenia and Turkey, together with the railway connection between Armenia and Azerbaijan, will immediately provide an effective connection between the Persian Gulf, the Black Sea, the Caspian Sea, and the Mediterranean Sea,” he said.
