Official Yerevan has already stated many times and at the highest level that it has no aggressive intentions towards any neighbor, recognizes the territorial integrity of all of them, and has no territorial claims, the Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesperson said in response to the media inquiry.
“It should be emphasized that the latest decision of the Armenian Constitutional Court, in which it verified and confirmed the compliance of the Regulation of the joint activities of the Armenian and Azerbaijani border delimitation commissions with the Armenian Constitution, refuted all claims that the Constitution contains territorial claims to any of its neighbors.
Armenia also stated that, despite the occupation of some of its territories, it has no problem or agenda to return those territories militarily, as the above-mentioned Regulation provides all possibilities for solving those problems through peaceful and negotiated means.
As for arms, the UN Charter reserves the right of self-defense to every state, and moreover, international law gives every state the obligation to protect its citizens. Armenia acquires arms and equipment only for the purpose of exercising the right to self-defense and the obligation to protect its citizens. At the same time, the number of Azerbaijani offensive weapons is much higher, which is often stated by the President of Azerbaijan himself,” the Armenian Foreign Ministry said.
