“Yerevan demonstrates yet another example of shifting its blame to others; in this case, to Russia, it is all about finding someone to blame for its own failures,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said in a press briefing on Wednesday, commenting on the Armenian Foreign Ministry’s statement made earlier.

The spokesperson quoted the 9th provision of the November 9, 2020 declaration, noting that a lot of work done to unblock communications has stalled due to “Yerevan’s uncompromising attitude towards border control issues and insistence on having Russian border guards deployed both on the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides.”

“Therefore, Yerevan refused to have the Russian border service control the traffic flow and actually froze its participation in the working group,” Zakharova stressed.
