Armenia may become an orphan, military columnist says
Speaking with Alpha News, Russian military columnist Viktor Litovkin commented on the difficulties in relations between Armenia and Russia.
“The crisis in relations between Armenia and Russia could lead to Armenia becoming an orphan. Neither the United States nor France, on which the current Prime Minister relies, nor the Prime Minister himself and his team will protect Armenia from anyone. They will abandon Armenia, just as they abandoned all their other partners or allies. The only country, the only army that has always defended Armenia, no matter what, was the Russian army.
And today’s, to put it mildly, unfriendly attitude of the Armenian authorities towards Russia and the Russian armed forces, the intrigues that are taking place in the leadership of Armenia, and the negative information that is disseminated in the Armenian media about Russia do not serve to strengthen relations between Armenia and Russia,” the political scientist emphasized.
According to Litovkin, Armenia is surrounded by fake allies.
“We must understand that Armenia is surrounded by unfriendly, to put it mildly, states. And when the Americans and their NGOs in Armenia try to show Armenia that they are their friends, this is all done with one single goal: to separate Armenia from Russia,” Litovkin said.
The expert comes to the conclusion that, in the end, Armenia’s sovereignty may be under threat.
“It is the Armenian people who will pay for this because they will be left alone with their enemies. But they will lose Russia. If they lose Russia, they will lose their country,” Litovkin concluded.
