Azerbaijani and Iranian Foreign Ministers, Jeyhun Bayramov and Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, had a meeting during the 79th session of the UN General Assembly on September 24.

Bayramov briefed his Iranian counterpart on the process of normalizing Armenian-Azerbaijani relations. According to him, the most serious obstacle to the conclusion of the final peace agreement is the presence of “territorial claims” against Azerbaijan in several legal and political documents of Armenia, particularly in the Constitution.

Azerbaijani FM stated that “the rapid militarization of Armenia continues”, describing it as “the revanchist tendencies”.

“This harms our efforts to establish security and stability in the region,” Bayramov said.
