Armenia needs someone who will be able to unite Armenian society
The word “shame” is not enough to describe the actions of the police, Samvel Lulukyan, the board member of the Central Council of German Armenians, told Alpha News.
“The Central Council of German Armenians strongly condemns unacceptable and shameful actions that took place near the Sardarapat Memorial on May 28, the day of the restoration of Armenian statehood.
Shame is not enough to describe it. The red line has already been crossed. This was an insult not only against His Holiness but also against all those who are followers of the Armenian Apostolic Church,” Lulukyan noted.
Lulukyan also commented on the brutal and disproportionate use of force by the police against Ashot Simonyan, a member of the National Assembly’s opposition faction.
“This is simply unacceptable. Such atrocities against citizens should not be allowed. 40 people attacked one person. It should be investigated,” he said.
According to him, the people need someone who will be able to unite everyone.
“We support Tavush for the Homeland movement, which is a spiritual and just movement. Armenia, which is on the verge of split, needs someone who will be able to consolidate and unite Armenian society. This split was one of the reasons for our defeat,” Samvel Lulukyan concluded.
