According to some experts, after Trump’s victory, the US attention to the South Caucasus region will weaken, and the European Union will not have enough resources to independently “play the game” against Russia, Iran and Turkey.

Speaking with Alpha News, Sergei Melkonian, Research Fellow at APRI Armenia, answering the question whether Russia can take advantage of these conditions and regain its lost positions both in Armenia and in the region, noted that Russia will be able to feel more free in its actions.

“I talked with colleagues from Iran and received two main messages from them. Firstly, we should not allow the West to turn Armenia into a second Ukraine, and secondly, we are trying to find allies far beyond our borders who actually have neither the political will nor the ability to support us. If the Russian-Ukrainian conflict cools down, the balance of power on earth may change dramatically,” Sergei Melkonian stressed.
