Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that Armenia will gain access to the railways of Iran and Russia through Azerbaijani territory. According to him, alongside construction projects in Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur, initiatives will also be implemented in the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic.
“Armenia will be able to break free from its current deadlock. Roads will be opened between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as between Turkey and Armenia. Through Nakhichevan, Armenia will gain access to Iran’s railways, and through Azerbaijan to Russia’s railways. This is beneficial for all sides: from an economic and transport perspective, there will be no losers. If someone considers themselves a political loser, that is their problem. But viewed pragmatically, everyone will see the advantages for themselves,” Aliyev said.
