Armenia to build Construction of New Nuclear Power Unit CJSC

By the Armenian Government’s decision, Construction of New Nuclear Power Unit(s) CJSC will be established to manage the construction plan of the new nuclear power unit(s). According to the preliminary estimate, the budget of the new company for 2024 is 200 million drams.

It is noted that the organization shall conduct a comparative study between all proposed technologies and feasibility studies, based on which it shall present its professional proposal on the choice of technology in the form of a comprehensively substantiated document.

After its approval by the Armenian Government, the organization shall coordinate and prepare documents related to the construction, financing, ownership, and operation of new nuclear power unit(s).

After the law on the construction of a new nuclear power unit comes into force, the organization shall manage, organize, and be responsible for the construction of the new nuclear power unit, i.e., to be an SPV.
