Armenia will have to choose between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the European Union (EU), Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk told journalists, RIA Novosti reports.

Earlier, on March 26, members of the Armenian parliament passed in the second and final reading a bill on starting the process of the country’s accession to the EU.

“I have familiarized myself with the text of the bill, which has been passed. It is like ‘for all good, against all bad’, it contains only general words. This is Armenia’s internal matter,” Overchuk said.

He noted that both the EAEU and the EU have similar agendas. “Therefore, of course, the country will have to define itself and make this choice. Because it will not be possible to sit on two chairs at the same time, that’s absolutely certain,” Overchuk said.
