‘Armenia wishes to be a link between Azerbaijan and Turkey’: Ararat Mirzoyan

Armenia does not want to be a barrier for Azerbaijan and Turkey, but wants to become a link between them, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said in a press conference on Wednesday, commenting on the aggressive statements by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev regarding the so-called “Zangezur corridor”.

According to him, if Armenia and Turkey open a border and build trust, Armenian border guards will be able to substitute Russian ones to guard this border.

Commenting on rumors about the possibility of the withdrawal of the Russian 102nd military base in Gyumri, Mirzoyan said that “this issue is not on the agenda”.
