Armenian and Iranian FMs discuss regional unblocking

On February 24, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi in Geneva. The meeting was held within the UN Human Rights Council session, the press office of the Armenian Foreign Ministry reports.

The foreign ministers discussed issues on the bilateral cooperation agenda. They emphasized their readiness to take further practical steps towards the continuous development of cooperation between the two countries, and touched upon ongoing efforts and upcoming programs in various sectoral directions.

The meeting also touched upon opportunities for cooperation in different formats.

Ararat Mirzoyan and Seyed Abbas Araghchi exchanged views on regional developments. They touched upon efforts to ensure stability and lasting peace in the South Caucasus.

The meeting also addressed the unblocking of regional economic and transport communications, based on the unconditional respect for the fundamental principles of international law.
