Armenian athlete Varsik Grigoryan ranks third at World Sambo Championship

The Armenian team secured a third medal at the World Sambo Championship that kicked off at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex in Yerevan on Friday.

In the women’s 54kg, Varsik Grigoryan lost to the Romanian athlete, who reached the final. Later, the Armenian athlete managed to beat Ukrainian Snejana Plish, and eventually Grigoryan claimed a third-place victory, defeating Bulgaria’s Tanya Radulova 4-0.

Previously, Sargis Vardanyan lost in the 79kg semifinal and became a bronze medalist.
Arman Hovhannisyan started with a win in the 98kg category but was defeated in the semifinal, taking third place as well.
