The Armenian national team delivered a strong performance at the 2025 Deaflympics, held in Tokyo from November 15 to 25, Sportaran reports.

The tournament, considered the Olympic equivalent for deaf and hard-of-hearing athletes, celebrated its 100th anniversary this year. Nine athletes represented Armenia and secured a total of four medals—one silver and three bronze.

Greco-Roman Wrestling
Narek Nikoghosyan (87 kg) earned Armenia’s silver medal. On his way to the final, he defeated opponents from Turkey, Venezuela and Cuba, but fell short in the decisive bout against an athlete from Iran.

In the 60 kg division, Sargis Sargsyan claimed a bronze medal.

Freestyle Wrestling
Senik Serobyan (57 kg) brought home another bronze. He defeated an athlete from India, then lost to an Iranian contender, but secured bronze with a convincing victory over Bulgaria.
