Wildfires have been raging in the American state of California for several days. According to the latest data, 24 people have died, the same number of people are missing, 150 thousand people have been evacuated. As it is known, the disaster has also affected Armenian-populated areas. These days law offices have been actively helping people by directing them to apply to the respective organizations for compensation.

Alpha News talked to a member of the Armenian Bar Association, attorney Ani Papirian. According to her, there are centers providing support to local Armenians. Armenian churches are also actively registering those in need of assistance and trying to help them get out of this difficult situation.

“The Armenian Bar Association takes the initiative and calls on our compatriots and all those affected to apply to us for appropriate legal assistance. To receive compensation from insurance companies, citizens must first provide evidence of the property they owned and lost in the disaster, it could be photographs or respective documents. People can also contact the office of emergency services. This especially concerns those who do not have insurance. They can apply to the office and receive compensation,” Papirian noted.
