Armenian Church ‘Srbots Yerkotasan’ reopened in Istanbul
The Armenian Apostolic Church ‘Srbots Yerkotasan’, which was closed for renovation, has reopened in the Kandilli quarter of Istanbul, Turkiye. After the consecration, the Armenian Patriarch of Constantinople celebrated the liturgy, the Shohakat TV channel reported.
The church ‘Srbots Yerkotasan’ was built in 1846. At the time, many famous Armenians lived in this quarter. Over time, their number has significantly decreased, and now only this church attests to the presence of Armenians in the Kandilli quarter.
It is also reported that a liturgy will be held in the church once a month.
