Armenian community in Homs has not been attacked – Hovig Shehirian

Recently, reports surfaced online claiming that armed groups in the Syrian city of Homs attacked Armenians and Alawites. The unrest began in the Alawite district of Al-Muhajireen and then spread to the Armenian quarter. Alpha News spoke with Aleppo-based journalist Hovig Shehirian on this topic.

“In Homs, there is a small Armenian community, and they live in different neighborhoods. But when these reports spread on social media, confusion arose, as if the clashes had taken place in the Armenian quarter. It is likely that the news was translated and understood in such a way that there were Armenian victims, but at the moment there are no human casualties or injuries,” Shehirian noted.
