Armenian Cultural Union of Leipzig hosts event to mark Parajanov’s 100th anniversary

The Armenian Cultural Union of Leipzig hosted an exhibition event to mark the 100th anniversary of the famous Armenian film director Sergei Parajanov, with works of 25 Armenian artists living in Germany being presented, reports orer. eu.

The artists showcased their works with Parajanov’s motifs. Artist Anahit Mkrchyan briefly presented Parajanov’s biography. Artem Sargsyan warmed up the evening by playing the Armenian duduk.

The opening was attended by Pastor Hakob Hakobyan and Armenian Embassy representative Sahak Yeghiazaryan, as well as members of various cultural unions in Leipzig.

The exhibition will last until September 14, after which it will open in different cities of Germany.
