Armenian government rejects draft bill criminalizing Armenian Genocide denial

On May 22, the Armenian government issued a negative conclusion on the draft amendments to the Criminal Code aimed at criminalizing the denial of the Armenian Genocide during its session.

The draft bill was proposed by the opposition parliamentary faction from the Armenia Alliance.

The government deemed the proposed amendments inexpedient.
