The Armenian prime minister’s office has released the memorandums of understanding signed on August 8 between Armenia and the United States. Three documents were signed in Washington, covering communications, energy, and high technologies.

The memorandums include the following key points:

– The Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Armenia emphasize unequivocal support for Armenia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of its internationally recognized borders; express mutual interest in investment in Armenia’s Crossroads of Peace project and enhancing Armenia’s infrastructure and border security.
– The countries will work to improve the efficiency of customs control and border security cooperation and capacity building, including to combat illicit trafficking and smuggling. They will facilitate the exchange of best practices between the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Armenian Border Guard Troops of the National Security Service and State Revenue Committee.
– The parties intend to collaborate in a number of areas, including civil nuclear energy cooperation—particularly small modular reactor technologies. They also aim to deepen cooperation in developing secure semiconductor supply chains, focusing on the semiconductor ecosystem, integrated circuit (IC) and electronics industries, and the commercialization of artificial intelligence applications.

All memorandums are valid for one year, with the option to extend them up to three times, for one year each.
