Armenian karate athletes win 13 medals at world championship in Portugal

The Armenian traditional karate team won 13 medals at the 22nd ITKF World Championship held in Portugal on October 7-14. The team led by the head of the Federation, Suren Matevosyan, won 5 gold, 6 silver, and 2 bronze medals in individual and team competitions.

Narek Iskandaryan, Artur Voskanyan, and Hovhannes Hakobyan, who became world champions in the Team Kata competition, had no equal in adult competitions. For Narek Iskandaryan, it was the second World Championship title in his career.

The Armenian national team earned 13 medals to place fifth among 40 countries.
