The Armenian Museum of Moscow added a facsimile edition of the atlas ‘Historical Cartography of Armenia’ to its collection, the museum reports on its Telegram channel.
This work saw the light of day in 1960, a culmination of years of efforts by geographer and cartographer Zatik Khanzadian.
The atlas was published in French in Courbevoie, a suburb of Paris. The cartographic part is preceded by an extensive reference section devoted to the history and culture of Armenia. The atlas consists of two volumes. They contain more than 40 maps showing Armenia in different historical periods of its existence.
Now the facsimile edition of Zatik Khanzadian’s unique work can be seen at the Armenian Museum in Moscow. The museum plans to translate and prepare the edition in Russian and English.
