At the 2026 World Figure Skating Championships in Prague on March 26, the winners and medalists in the pairs event were determined. The Armenian duo Karina Akopova / Nikita Rakhmanin placed eighth overall, achieving a career-best result — 190.46 points across the two programs.
In the free skate, the Armenian pair performed almost all elements cleanly, but made a mistake on the penultimate one — a lift. Without this error, the athletes could have aimed for a higher final result.
The world champions were the German pair Minerva Fabienne Hase / Nikita Volodin — bronze medalists of the last Olympics. Silver went to the representatives of Georgia, European champions Anastasia Metelkina and Luka Berulava. The bronze medals were won by the Canadians Lia Pereira / Trennt Michaud.
