Armenian Parliament approves arrest of MP Artur Sargsyan

The Armenian Parliament has approved a request from the Prosecutor General to arrest Artur Sargsyan, a member of the “Armenia” faction.

“If you’ve decided to arrest—go ahead. Your job is to intimidate people, ours is to fight,” the MP said and emphasized that the decision on his arrest was predetermined.

After deprivation of parliamentary immunity Sargsyan himself came to the Investigative Committee, saying that he was not going to hide and was ready to be arrested. He called what was happening a manifestation of dictatorship, but emphasized that he would continue his struggle.
