Speaking with Alpha News, MGIMO professor Evgeny Kozhokin commented on the rallies in Yerevan.
According to the expert, the people of Armenia are now looking for the best path for themselves.
“If we compare the political culture of Armenia with that of other post-Soviet countries, then, probably, Armenia’s political culture is one of the most democratic. Plus, civic activity in Armenia is really high. This does not mean that civic activity always leads to positive results, that is, achievements of national interests, but nevertheless, it is high. The people of Armenia are now looking for a new path for themselves in other geopolitical coordinates, after the tragic second Karabakh war. These speeches are related to finding the best path,” Kozhokin said.
According to the professor, Russia is closely monitoring what is happening in Armenia.
“Without any doubt, Russia is closely following what is happening in Yerevan and in Armenia in general, since the list of things that connect us is endless. Too many things, too deep. Ordinary people in Russia are also worried about what is happening in Armenia. The main thing is that we want the republic to find its own way, to find a path to prosperity. Of course, we want the ties that were established in the post-Soviet period to continue and develop further and in no case be interrupted,” Kozhokin concluded.
