Fresno State Professor Hovhannes Kulhandjian created a new invention called “System and Method for Human and Animal Detection in Low Visibility.” One of the devices is handheld, another is a drone, and the last one sits on the ground. The invention will allow firefighters to determine the location of humans and animals in heavy smoke.

Back in May 2021, Dr. Kulhandjian applied for a patent, and three years later the patent was granted. Now the goal of Hovhannes Kulhandjian is to commercialize the invention into a full prototype, mass production, and deploy it all across the globe.
