Armenian representatives shine at 34th Kavala Open International Chess Tournament in Greece

The 34th Open International Chess Tournament of Kavala ‘Vasilis Theodoridis’, held in Greece, was once again marked by outstanding performances from young Armenian chess players, the Armenian Chess Federation reported.

Aren Mnatsakanyan, coached by International Grandmaster A. Chibukhchyan, delivered an impressive performance, boosting his FIDE rating by 98 points. He surpassed the 2,200 milestone and earned the honorary title of Candidate Master of Sports.

David Melkonyan, coached by S. Manukyan and A. Chibukhchyan, also excelled in the Group “B” boys under 10 category, taking the honorable 1st place.
