Armenian side has not retrieved Vera Aghasyan’s body, who passed away in Stepanakert, for 5 months

The Armenian delegation has not responded to the issue of handing over Vera Aghasyan’s body, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Head of the State Security Service Sharafat Hasanov said on Monday.

He noted that the Armenian side, along with children of Vera Aghasyan (born 1954), who passed away from illness on October 20 last year in Stepanakert, had been informed of her death through the ICRC.

“All the necessary documentation procedures for the body’s transfer have been completed, and even in February this year the issue was directly raised with the Armenian delegation during a border meeting without mediators. However, the Armenian side has not taken any action on the issue of transferring the body for nearly five months,” he said.
